The recent Practical Vacuum incorporating Semiconductor Processing exhibition, which took place at the NEC on 15th and 16th February, was successful for all involved, according to organiser Trident Exhibitions. Colocated with nine other focused industrial events, the two-day event attracted more than 5500 visitors. John Mara of Becker said: "The show has been fantastic, very productive." And John Judson of Nor-Cal added that Practical Vacuum was "the only UK show that puts you in touch with vacuum users across the board."
Visitors came from a wealth of industries including those involved with government research, instrumentation, manufacturing, materials, semiconductors, electronics and aerospace to look for, among others, coatings and thin film, cryogenics, deposition sputtering, scientific instrumentation, vacuum metallurgy and plasma science and techniques. Practical Vacuum exhibition director Louisa Pridham was pleased with how successful the events were, commenting: "Practical Vacuum remains the only UK event in its field which attracts high quality visitors: buyers and specifiers with real spending power. It offers many companies their first and often only opportunity in the year to network within their industries and I am looking forward to seeing how the event progresses in 2007."
The success of the 2006 event is reinforced by the rebookings for the 2007 shows, which are already well underway. More than 73 percent of space has already been sold in the two weeks since the 2006 show ended. Companies who have already reserved their stands for 2007 include Pfeiffer Vacuum, Bronkhorst, Becker, Advanced Energy and Scanwel. The 2007 exhibitions will be held in halls 10, 11 and 12 of the NEC on 14th and 15th February alongside Octo Media's Medical Device Technology and 3C events.
