The British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) is helping member companies secure contracts in China and the far east, by taking a large Pavilion at the PTC (Power Transmission and Control) Exhibition this year. The event is being held from the 10th to 13th October 2006 in the New International Expo Centre in Shanghai.

Companies who are members of the BFPA can apply to be represented in the UK pavilion where they will receive every support to help them meet and discuss projects with Chinese and Asian companies looking for respected UK expertise in a professional business atmosphere. In many cases these preliminary meetings conclude with the signing of contracts to supply goods, services and materials to burgeoning Chinese and far east markets that are eager to develop.

UK companies wishing to be represented at the PTC exhibition can be supported with small grants from the Government via UKTI, a section of the DTI. This year the BFPA expects to be accompanied by approximately 10 member companies in the UK pavilion.

Whilst the exhibition has existed since 1991 when it covered 2,500 square metres, growth in the past few years has been exponential. Last year the show covered some 46,580 square metres area housing 1011 exhibitors against just 100 in 1991, so its importance to the Chinese and Asian economies cannot be underestimated.
