MKS Instruments has announced the election of Greg Beecher, 48, to its board of directors as a new director, effective August 1, 2006. John Bertucci, executive chairman of the board, said: "We are pleased to welcome Greg to the MKS Board. He brings significant semiconductor industry knowledge along with extensive financial and public accounting experience, and we look forward to his active participation." Beecher's election expands the membership of the MKS Board to nine Directors
Beecher joins from Teradyne, where he had been vice president and chief financial officer since 2001, with responsibility for all aspects of financial management as well as information technology and human resources. From 1993 to 2001, he was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and provided audit and audit-related services to numerous technology companies. He served on the Board of MatrixOne prior to its acquisition.
