Graham Corporation has announced that it has received orders totaling $1.1 million for an ejector system which will be installed with the revamp of an oil sands upgrader facility located in Alberta, Canada. Revenue for this contract will be recognised on a percentage-of-completion basis. The ejector system is scheduled for shipment during the first quarter of fiscal 2008, which ends June 30, 2007.

Graham supplied the original ejector system for this facility in 2003. Shortly after startup, the facility was operating at a higher throughput rate than its original design resulting in a lower than expected quantity of high value synthetic oil products. Graham technical service engineers conducted on-site performance surveys and consulted with the refinery engineers to evaluate the various options. It was determined the facility was operating at 30 percent above design capacity, and Graham recommended the installation of additional ejector equipment to enable processing capabilities in line with the original design specifications.

James R. Lines, president and CEO of Graham, comments: "This project demonstrates the importance of our engineering skills and expertise, particularly in the oil sands region which requires very specialised equipment. Oil sands production is expected to quadruple within the next 15 years, and Graham is in a strong position as the supplier of choice for these types of operations."
