Parker Life Sciences announces the release of the VSO-EV, a pressure controller specifically configured and optimized for vacuum pressure control. The VSO-EV converts an electrical control signal into a closed-loop, tightly regulated pneumatic output. Compatible with Bluetooth wireless technology, the VSO-EV measures 57 x 57 x 32mm and offers a standard pressure range of with 0 to 345 mmHg, with custom units ranging from 0 up to 25 inHg. It is configured with a 0-5 VDC input control signal and monitor output signal. Pressure accuracies to 0.2percent FS are typical.
Often used for aspirating liquid samples in gas-over-liquid flow control, as well as for pipetting and dispensing of nano-liter volumes, the VSO-EV offers users a choice of either an external transducer or an internal sensor to close the control loop around critical system parameters.
"Constant manual adjustments, temperature and altitude related drift, and mechanical hysteresis are major shortcomings of needle valve type setups," explains Richard Parker, senior engineer at Parker Hannifin. "OEM instrument manufacturers need an automated, versatile solution for their liquid handling, pipetting, and dispensing systems. With its small size, low weight and power consumption, and high resolution, the VSO-EV offers a cost-effective option over manual vacuum control methods in many instances. This EPC is well suited for high precision automated laboratory instruments, meeting the most stringent separation and detection requirements."
The VSO-EV is part of a complete suite of electronic pressure control devices available now from Parker Life Sciences.
