The DPS low absolute pressure transmitter from SensorsONE can cover ranges as low as 0-2mb absolute and is suitable for a wide range of vacuum measurement applications on autoclaves, drying systems, environmental chambers and leak testing. The absolute pressure sensing capsule includes a highly reliable and stable linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) which is a well proven technology for detecting fractional movements with frictionless precision. When combined with a sensing diaphragm that can translate very low pressures linearly and with repeatability, a high performance low pressure transducer is produced.
The pressure ranges start with 0-10mb absolute which can be down ranged for use over 0-2mb absolute and go up to a maximum range of 40bar absolute. The DPS vacuum pressure sensor can be used with wet gases and liquids because it is made from fully welded heat treated stainless steel. There are also options for manufacturing in stainless steel 316L and Hastelloy C276 for more corrosive media such as salt water. The electronics can be factory set with non-linear signal outputs, particular RC time constants and filter jump outs for rapid change events.
The user can change the range by simply touching two contacts together at the desired zero and full scale values. This is particularly useful for applications such as measuring barometric pressure where you are only interested in a range from 800mb to 1100mb absolute. There are six different signal outputs that can be specified for the DPS low absolute pressure transducer which are the 4-20mA current output in the widely used two wire format, 0-10mA, 0-20mA, 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V and 1-5V amplified outputs all in a three wire format.
The DPS low absolute pressure sensor bridges the gap between strain gauge diaphragm technology and ultra low vacuum sensing technology such as Pirani or ion gauges to measure pressures from 0-2mb to 0-250mb absolute.
