Small oval diaphragm pump has high flow

New from Rietschle Thomas is the series 4002 oval diaphragm pump. Competitively priced and measuring just 17 x 30.3 x 52.6 mm, the 4002 achieves a flow of 2.0 l/min, making it the ideally suited for all handheld analytical devices.

The valves of the oval diaphragm pump are not mounted above in the usual arrangement, but instead in front of the pump body. With this arrangement, Rietschle Thomas engineers saved construction space, allowing the free room above to be used for the DC motor. The result is a pump with a very low construction height.

The pump chamber is also used to full capacity. The oval cut rolling diaphragm of the 4002 series performs the pumping task using a gentle pendulum motion without the usual elongation at yield, enabling the pump to achieve a flow of 2.0 l/min.

The 4002 series is offered in two versions. The vacuum pump reaches -600 mbar relative pressure during intermittent duty and -200 mbar relative during continuous duty. The special pressure version reaches 800 mbar operating under intermittent, and 200 mbar during continuous pressure.

Rietschle Thomas anticipates that the oval diaphragm pump series 4002 will be mainly used in handheld devices. Typical applications include gas analysis and monitoring, gas and air sampling, pipettes, vacuum pinchers and handheld leak detectors.
