Better energy efficiency from diaphragm pumps

Gardner Denver Altonvisit website

Gardner Denver Thomas has extended the JADE series with the new 1420 VDP. In addition to the so-called 'angular' diaphragm for vacuum or pressure operations at high flow, a 'flat' diaphragm version is now available that can be used for pressure as well as vacuum operation, optimised for higher pressures rather than for higher flow.

The basis of this two-headed diaphragm pump model 1420 VDP remains the twin configuration of the pump heads. Perfectly balanced, the efficiency is increased by up to 90 percent compared to single headed pumps, thanks to the assistance provided by the second pump chamber at back pressure. This unique energy balance results in a longer battery life.

In parallel operation the pump creates a final pressure of 1,9 bar and 73 percent vacuum with a free flow of 6.3 l/min. Depending upon choice of motor the pump has the compact dimensions of 87 to 112 x 30 x 75mm and a weight of 220 to 210g. With a sound level of less than 45dB(A) the 1420 VDP is extremely quiet with very low vibration.

Gardner Denver Thomas offers the pump with different motors - from low cost to high quality. The brushless motor version with integrated controller offers outstanding possibilities for flow control. The pump is available in 12 and 24V versions, as well as with different eccentrics and materials for aggressive media. Typical applications for the 1420 VDP include medical and analytic equipment, pollution monitoring, fuel cells and battery operated equipment.
