The Oerlikon Leybold range of SCREWLINE dry-compressing vacuum pumps has been extended with new pump types: SP250 and SP630 are now qualified as O2 versions.
Production of these versions requires highest standards for cleanliness of the various components and parts. For this reason, production of SCREWLINE vacuum pumps for oxygen applications requires the use of selected materials and underlies dedicated measures within the quality system. _All this ensures that the SCREWLINE vacuum pumps can be used for evacuation of gas mixtures with oxygen concentration higher 21 percent or even for pumping pure oxygen.
The O2-variants are equipped with the SCREWLINE monitor-system and a sealing gas control unit as standard. An exhaust silencer and an adapter for RUVAC pumps are available as accessories. By adding the RUVAC blowers, which are also qualified for usage with oxygen, complete pump systems can be built.
Typical areas of use for SCREWLINE O2 pumps include gas bottle filling plants for oxygen, plasma cleaning, space technology and science and coating applications. In particular, in applications where oil sealed pumps with expensive PFPE lubricant are used, SCREWLINE O2 dry compressing vacuum pumps offer high potential for savings.
