The new MPT 100 transmitter expands the existing portfolio of Pfeiffer Vacuum DigiLine vacuum instruments. The combination of a Pirani and a cold cathode sensor is compatible with existing controllers and accessories. The advantages of this combination are a broad measurement range of from 5 x 10-9 to 1000 mbar and insensitivity to gas inrush.
The two sensors are matched to one another in such a manner as to eliminate the possibility of contamination. This makes the MPT 100 suitable for coating systems, as well. Moreover, cold cathodes are significantly more robust than hot cathodes. _
Thanks to digital technology, it is possible to switch the cold cathode sensor on and off by means of an external software command. This avoids interference with the vacuum process. Digital technology enables the cold cathode to achieve accuracies that had previously been available only with hot cathodes.
The MPT 100 can easily be combined with Pfeiffer Vacuum backing pumps, turbopumps or leak detectors via the RS-485 interface. It is also possible to provide a Profibus or DeviceNet interface via a field bus converter.
