New valves extend Danfoss vacuum portfolio

Danfoss A/Svisit website

Danfoss has expanded its vacuum range with the launch of new air admit/venting valves, helping manufacturers meet the tighter specifications necessary too create smaller and more sophisticated components for consumer electronics. The valves offer a flexible, durable and energy efficient solution for gas supply systems and applications and are ideal for the demanding manufacturing conditions in the semiconductor industry, thin film coating industry and leak detection systems.

The direct (bellows-free) actuating systems offer extremely short opening and closing times (less than 20msec) ensuring the lowest leak rates. The compact modular design with an overall dimension of less than 65mm offers more choice and greater flexibility for systems designers. The series is available in Normally Closed and Normally Open models. Both versions are solenoid actuated and, like the rest of the Danfoss product portfolio, offer extremely low power consumption (max. 6W).

Product manager Dirk Köster says: "The market for vacuum valves is being driven by consumer demand for smaller and more sophisticated electronics. With the introduction of our new air admit range Danfoss can help manufacturers meet this demand and also to fulfil the current need for extremely low power consumption."

The new valves extend what was already a comprehensive range of vacuum valves in the Danfoss portfolio. In common with all Danfoss valves, the vacuum valve range features a compact, modular body design allowing greater choice and higher flexibility when designing systems. The range of models includes manually, pneumatically and electromagnetically operated valves. The electromagnetic valves in particular boast some of the lowest energy consumption figures in the industry.

The valves serve different applications in a wide range of high vacuum applications, including: thin film coating, semiconductor, industrial vacuum, research and development, universities and synchrotrons. The growing demand for smaller electronic components for products such as phones, computers and flat-screen TVs is creating an increasing need for even higher specifications from manufacturers.
